TOOK A PRACTICE GMAT TEST.

by nolf » Tue Jan 06, 2009 4:16 am
Hi All

I just took a practice GMAT test without much preparation..I had done a little bit of the Princeton review...

Many told me that the tests are the only way to analyze yourself....

So i got a 500 in the test... Is this common? Do we really start off with such low results... I didnt find the princeton book much helpful...

Kind of bummed off....So wanted to know as to if Kaplan is better or Manhattan....

Suddenly feeling this immense pressure on me already although my GMAT is on April 1st.....

Any help would do wonders to me...

Thanks
Harsha

MGMAT was the best book I used. I started with a 600, but I'm a native English speaker.

Many, many people start in the 500s. In fact, the average score on the GMAT is 540, so you're not too far off. The vast majority of people score between about 500 and 650.

For your reference, 700 is (or, was when I last checked) 93rd percentile!

Good luck in your studies, and feel free to return with more specific questions!
