IMO A

Two points:
Presence of both Big and long is redundant. B and D are out.
In C, growing incorrectly modifies the previous clause.

Between A and E, A is correct.

IMO D big and long are not being redudant, you can't say: it's 30 feet; you have to say it's 30 feet long

as...as is correct as well as including is on the end.

I don't like the others with "to be" in there.

The sentence isn't written "30 feet big and long" it is written "as big as 30 feet long" which is saying that the whale could grow up to 30 feet in length.

30 feet what? Around? The width?
If the snake is growing, it would obviously mean around the length. IMO long is redundant. grow as big as 30 feet is correct.
