Hi,
I need some help in understanding how to answer this question
Q) If x and y are both positive numbers, is x greater than 75% of y

1) 5x>4y+1
2) x = 6

The answer is A.

Please explain how.

Thanks in advance

5x > 4y + 1

x > 4/5y + 4/5

if x is greater than 80%(y) + 4/5, then x is definitely greater than 75% of y.

(Note: if x and y didn't have to be positive, this wouldn't necessarily be true.)
