Is n and integer?

n3 is an integer
3\n is an integer


Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient
Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient
BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient
EACH statement ALONE is sufficient
Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

the fist statement says that 3*n is a integer ... there are 2 possiblities first n is an integer = 6 .. in which case 3*n is an intger .. second n is of the form a/3 ( a is an integer ) .. in which case again 3*n is an integer .. so first is insufficient ...

the second statement says 3/n is an integer .. there are again 2 possiblities .. first n=1 in which case n is an intger and so is 3/n .. second n is of the form 3/b (b is an integer ) .. in which case 3/n = 3/(3/b) = b an intger .. so again there is no defnite value for n .. so insufficient

now combibng both the cases .. we can see that n is an intger .. so the answer is C

The ans is E
bcos lets take 1/3 as n both statements r satisfied

lets take 3 as n again both statements r satisfied

hence E

1 is not sufficient
Take the case of 3n = 6 then n=2 ,n integer
take the case of 3n=7 then n=7/3 , a non integer

2 is not sufficient
take the case when 3/n=1 then n=3,integer
take the case when 3/n =2 then n=3/2, a non integer

now combining both

Consider n=1/3, a non integer, it satisfies both I and II
Consider n=1, an integer , it satisfies both I and II

So, n can be an integer or a non integer

So E it is !!!
