Hello guys,
I want to share my GMAT experience with you.
I took the gmat few weeks ago and scored 700 (M 45, V40). I was studying for the GMAT during 4-5 months. I couldn't spend more than 1-2 hours a day on my preparation because I also have a full time job. My main goal was to cover all gmat concepts (math and verbal: I used Manhattan Gmat books and I also partially took MasterGMat course, which was really helpful) and to take 5-6 practice tests (2 GMAT prep and 4-5 Manhattan GMAT). I also spent a lot of time on this website solving Beat the GMAT daily challenges.
I'm pretty sure you all know how stressful it is to study for the GMAT, it doesn't matter how much you've already studied you still do not have the security that you can score high enough. So 2 weeks before the test I couldn't study for the GMAT anymore, I was just fed up with all these endless gmat exercises and didn't know what to do because I still didn't score more than 660 on the gmat preparation test (official GMAT prep, around 640 on manhattan gmat prep) - I always was running out of time on the math part, so I had to guess 5-6 last questions. My GMAT goal was to score at least 680.
Anyway, I decided that i'll not give up and I'll do my best, so I went to the test center emotionless, with the only idea to execute and get the score I deserved.
I think the main thing that helped me to succeed is the realization that i'll never have enough time to check all my solutions for the math problem and many times i'll need just to guess. Please understand me correctly not blindly guess but logically eliminate wrong answers and save the precious time. The more you practice for the gmat the more common sense how to crack it you obtain. At the end of the day the GMAT doesn't test your math or grammar knowledge but it does test how successful you can be in very complex situation when you need to make a fast and what is more important right decision under the tremendous time pressure.
Good luck to everybody and believe that you can do it!
