I wish I got more than 690 (Q 49, V 35)

Dear friends,

Like many here, I too have been a silent follower of BTG for a few months now. I had my gmat today and ended up with a (dismal) score of 690 (Q49, V35). I had been preparing for this for the last 3 months and considering I got 770 in my GMAT prep, I least expected this score!

Well, I need inputs from those who have applied / experts to help me understand what my chances of getting into global schools with a good rank. I know that top 20-25 schools are out of question but I want to understand how my chances are of getting through schools with global rankings of 20-35 with this score (I'm looking at schools in US and Europe)? My brief exp is as follows:

1. 3+ yrs in IT Consulting with an American firm in India
2. The 3+ yrs exp includes 6 months in UK
3. Toastmasters
4. Foreign Language
5. GPA = 3.6 in Bachelors

I realize that I am another run of the mill IT guy from India and really need great essays and recommendations from here. Please help!

Thanks,
SuhPra

Work on your apps. 690 is a decent enough score. Considering your exp, a good essay can get u in most colleges. Good Luck!!
