670 and 8/8 IR --> Q about how this will be perceived...

I took the GMAT a second time and got an identical 670 as the first time I took it. I feel despondent about the results particularly after taking practice test after practice test in the 700-730 range, and sticking my head in the proverbial books these last months. At this point I don't really have time to re-take the exam if I want to get apps in for the first round as I do. It looks like I'm going to roll the dice on a few schools, despite their being reaches, and see what happens. I have a particularly weird background, so I'm hoping that counts for something...

I managed an 8/8 on the IR and a 6/6 on the essay. Consensus seems to be that IR won't be factored heavily this cycle, but perhaps if ones GMAT is a little bit below range it could be a bit of a mitigating factor?

Eh? Eh?

I'm just hoping here...

Hi,

Thanks for sharing some insights from your GMAT exam. Tough luck with your score, but all in all you have an exceptional score for AWA and IR.

Could you please share any useful tips to ace IR and AWA. The main concern for me currently with IR is that I am finding it too time consuming. How can I interpret data better, are there any workarounds for the same?

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with your score. Unfortunately, I don't think your IR score will be much of a mitigating factor for the other scores. Schools don't really know how to judge IR yet, so even though you had a great score, the consensus seems to be that most schools will be ignoring that section for now.
