GMAT beat me!

by akankshaj » Tue Oct 05, 2010 9:58 pm
I appeared for my exam 2 weeks back and ended up with a score of 620! (Q= 45 & Verval= 33) I did not find the exam difficult or was surprised by any question in the main exam - I just failed to perform well.

I did my prep from OG 12 and OG's verbal and quant review books. For the tests - I consistently tested myself through the Powerprep Tests and MGMAT tests. On powerprep I scored between 660 - 710 & On the day prior to my GMAT, I scored 690 on my MGMAT test.

I plan to take the test again. What I realize is that my maths basics are not too strong because of which I make silly mistakes in DS questions. In verbal where I go wrong is the CR section. Also, I, almost at all times get the RC Ques "what does the passage imply" wrong.

Could someone please recommend how can I improve my performance in Quant to reach a score of 50 percentile and how can I learn to attack verbal questions in a better way to get them right? Also, suggest what material can i use for the same.

Thanks!

I suggest you to practice with right material.
Powerscore CR Bible, Veritas guides, Manhattan guides are good for verbal
OG Quant, Kaplan 800, Kaplan Math workbook are good for quant.
