Hi Everyone,
This is Prateek. I have been thinking of doing the MBA for career advancement for a year now. It wasnt until 5th August when I decided that I will give my GMAT in a month and will apply to NYU part-time MBA (Spring 2011). I studied for couple of weeks & finished Quants section of OG guide & Kaplan Math workbook. I then took GMATPrep Test#2, I scored 600. After another week, I took PowerPrep Test#1, & scored 640. Yesterday I took MGMAT CAT#1 & got beaten badly , scored 560.
I have already booked my GMAT date as 15th september (which is the deadline for applying to NYU spring 2011 part time MBA). I have couple of questions for all of you and would really appreciate if you guys can help me decide.
1. Should I reschedule my test date to 24th september (to get 1 extra week of prep)? I need more practice to reach a score above 680. I work full-time and finding it hard to study more than 3-4 hrs on a weekday. I am able to study for some 8-10 hrs on weekends (each day).
2. Will it affect my NYU application by any chance? Can I mention in Essay#4 that I am taking the GMAT on 24th sep and my application doesnt include the score?
I did well on GRE (Q:800,V:600) when I took it in 2003 for my MS applications. I just need more time to hone my rusty skills.
Please advise me. Looking forward to your responses. Thanks!
