Need suugestions for study plan

Hi ,
I have around 3 years of exp and working full time. I am planning to give GMAT by November mid so i have around 2 and half months to study.
I am not sure how to start.
By reading the post i have found out below are some books to refer
1. Kaplan gmat book
2. Official gmat book
3. Deltacourse.com
4. Princeton Review Challenge
5. Kaplan gmat 800

Can anyone please help me with the schedule and hours i need to dedicate?

There are two important things you need to start with:

1) What is your target score?

and

2) What is your current score?


Take a practice exam to figure out your current level and how close you are to your goals, then it will be easier to craft a study plan.

As Jim points out, it's important to take a practice test early in one's studies. In fact, in BTG's 60-Day study guide, students are directed to take a full-length practice test on Day 3 (once you've familiarized yourself with the GMAT).

Since you're just starting out, it's important to define your overall timeline/plans:

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to apply to School?
3) Have you thought about which Schools you'll be applying to?

Hi Rich & Brent,

I am planning to give prep test this weekend.
My goal score would be 700+.
B-school I am planning to start by end of Nov and start of Dec.
Not sure about which B-schools to apply for in US.
In India, planning to apply to B schools like SP Jain.

Hi bhavanabahety,

When you take the CAT this weekend, it's important to make that 'event' as realistic and test-like as possible. Thus, you should plan to take the FULL CAT (including the Essay and IR sections), away from your home, take only the scheduled 'breaks', etc. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can talk through your study plan options.

Hi,

I gave CAT yesterday. I have got a score of 420 but i had half an hour left in both verbal and quantitative section.
Since I had office, I tried to finish it soon.
I know score is too less, hopefully i can get the desired score by studying hard.
Please help me with the study plan.
I am planning to give exam by Nov fist or second week.

Hi,

No score is too less. Since you obviously were in a rush.

I scored 530 this time :) quite better than previous and took test from Kaplan.
i am planing to study from Kaplan GMAT Premier and OG 2015.
Willthat be enough?

There's no single study regimen that will work best for everyone, Bhavana. Make sure that you thoroughly review each practice test after you take it and make a list of strategic adjustments that you can make before the next exam. Make sure that you have a deep understanding of the OG questions you do - anything that requires more than two minutes to solve, you'll want to revisit. If you find that your practice exam scores are improving steadily, there's no reason to alter something that's working. If, however, you aren't making the kind of progress you'd like to see, give us more details and we'll have recommendations for which resources could supplement your regimen.

It would be helpful to know more about your recent practice scores. Take some time to go through both exams and identify your specific problem areas/question types that gave you the most trouble. This will help us make some targeted suggestions that will help you make the most out of the time you have, and also set some realistic expectations and goals based on these scores.
