Thanks for your feedback. Before I respond, what do you want to do after you earn your MBA?

The main reason for me to go for MBA would be ,i want to get stronger in management area. I want to do ore challenging job in life, i want good exposure of several other fields apart from software.
I want to get placed any where well, i mean with nice salary package. In my current job i am earning very less . The main reason to be very frank is i want to settle well. My biggest motivation is our's is a joint family where in we have so many who haven't studied that much,so even i have plans to start some business after 10 yrs down the lane for providing employement oppurtunity to them.
Thanks & Regards

Kitchu,

The first thing I would suggest to you as that you clarify your post-MBA goal. Almost all MBA applicants pursue the degree for professional advancement. The question becomes why do you want to pursue in this way and more importantly in what area of business -- a vast field. Please see:

* MBA Admissions: What is a Goal?
* Goals in MBA Admissions -- A Must

Consider the following schools: UNC, Indiana, and UT Austin.

firstly a big thanks for your reply [:-)]

Yes at present, am not really happy with my current position. I want advancement in job because, what i feel is, i am more of a managerial material rather than purely technical guy. So my basic reason of doing MBA would be to consolidate myslef in making some goals and motivating team to achieve them. I feel some times that always MBA is saffer, as it really helps me to give a wider chances in market to secure my job

Please correct me if i am worng
Thanks & Regards

An MBA can open doors and broaden your opportunities in business, but it will really help you to have a better idea of what you want to do post-MBA. (I am presenting at an Accepted.com webinar tomorrow and this response reminds me of one section of the webinar "Best Practices for MBA Admissions.") The MBA is a means to an end, not an end in itself. You need to have a clearer idea of where you want to go.

Best,
Linda
