Please opine on my new strategy...

by wallstreetcat » Fri Jan 15, 2010 4:42 pm
So, I've decided that its been two years of being lazy (defined as just work) and it's back to hitting the books to prep for the GMAT... I've been reading the blog a bit and would really love some opinions on whether or not this strategy seem feasible or whether it's just better to take a course and get it over and done with... I'm truly indifferent as to the method but I am somewhat of an overachieving do-it-yourselfer and would love to bust my a$$ and know I did well due to pure drive not a course (sounds whacky until you hear my actual study schedule)...

So I recently invested some time into tackling this obstacle and for the past week I've been waking up at 5:30 to study 1-1.5 hrs before work and then 1-1.5hrs after work ( i work late hours so a 2hr+ study sched after 10pm is a little difficult), wknds 3-4hrs a day...

I'm currently on the Gmat premier book to get a general sense of the test and some basic skill, and plan on taking the gmatprep exam once I wrap it up this wknd for a general idea of what my score is... After that I'm thinking of the following:
- Review all the MGMAT books for the Math Section;
- Complete the Quantitative OGMAT book
- Powerscore CR
- MGMAT SC & Doing Grammar by morenberg for a touch up on english
- MGMAT RC
- Complete Verbal OGMAT Book
- Go through the OGMAT 12 book...
- take the 5 kaplan CAT test from GMAT premier
and then I run out of practice ideas... mgmat have anything online?

overall is this feasible for a 700+ score or would a course be better? if this seems good, any other problems sets I could tackle?

btw, im thinking 3-4 months for the whole process...

That sounds solid you will be good. Good luck, just stay disciplined.
