Warehouse W's revenue from the sale of sofas was what percent greater this year than it was last year?

1. Warehouse W sold 10 percent more sofas this year than it did last year.
2. Warehouse W's selling price per sofa was $30 greater this year than it was last year.

Stmt I) Warehouse W sold 10 percent more sofas this year than it did last year

No way of knowing the price last year and the price this year so we cannot calculate the revenue increase. This will vary based on the prices.

INSUFF

Stmt II

Warehouse W's selling price per sofa was $30 greater this year than it was last year

No idea on how many sofas were sold last year and this year

INSUFF

Together still insufficient (explaining it in detail BELOW but dont have to do all this in the exam since knowing we dont have the base dollar value to compare the thirty $ increase is sufficient to mark E)

Hypothetical examples

Scenario 1:

Eg: Last year sold 10 sofas for 1$ each REV 10$
This year sold 11 sofas for 31$ each REV 341

Revenue Increase
= 341 - 10 / 10 *100 which will be a huge number

Scenario 2:
Last year sold 10 sofas for 1000$ each REV 10000$
This year sold 11 sofas for 1030 $ $ each REV 11330 $

Revenue Increase
= 11330 - 10000 / 10000 *100 which will be smaller number compared to scenario 1

INSUFF (since we cant get to a single defnite value for Revenue Increase %)

Just out of curiosity..

if the second statement had instead given a 30% increase in the each sofa's rate.. instead of $30.. can we say C would be answer for this question..

I think C would be correct.
