GMAT Score:590

AWA portion

by batman73 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:52 pm
Hi,
I would like some advice. The first time I took the gmat,
I scored a 490(Q34 V21) with a writing score of 5.5. This time I scored a 590(Q43 V29) and writing of 4.5. Do I need to worry about a lower writing score? As my scores continue to go up, I figure I should not concentrate too much on the writing portion. Am I write to say that or even think that?

I wouldn't worry about your AWA score from your most recent GMAT. In general, the AWA is not a very critical score that GMAT adcoms consider in your app. Plus, your 4.5 is still pretty good.

Good luck!

When I discovered that the essays weren't a factor in the total score, I really did wonder why people didn't just write "Screw this", hit "Next" and move on to the math
