Let's take each statement one by one.

We know that Range = Highest price - Lowest price

(1) 1/3 of the wallets had a selling price of $24 each.

We do not know whether $24 represents the highest price, lowest price, or none of the two. Insufficient.

(2) The lowest selling price of the wallets was 1/3 the highest selling price of the wallets.

Certainly insufficient as we do not know the highest price and lowest price. Insufficient.

(1) and (2) together

Since we do not know whether $24 represents the highest price, lowest price, or none of the two, we cannot make any conclusion. Insufficient.

The correct answer: E

Hope this helps!
