Similarity between GMATPrep and real GMAT test

Expert replies

Hi all,
I'd like to know how similar is the GMATPrep test to the real GMAT test.
Before working through the GMATPrep test I studied for about 4 months from different books. I was disappointed when I took my first GMATPrep test. I scored only 590.
I would say that at this point I am comfortable with all the problems in the GMATPrep test 1. I basically went through the test several times until I exhausted all the problems that I couldn't solve during the test. Then I took the second GMATPrep test, and my score for the quantitative increased to 47 from the previously 38. I'm wondering whether this is a little inflated, because the some questions from the first GMATPrep were similar to the second test....
Now, I continue working through the various questions from the second GMATPrep test 2 until I exhaust all them all. I only have 3 weeks left to my real test.
Maybe someone with some real GMAT experience can give me some advice, whether I'm on the right track….
Thanks a lot
