Before you take a test, you should really get familiar with the GMAT by going over one of the review books. Otherwise you just waste a test and freak yourself out with a bad score because you have no idea what to expect.

There are some free practice tools on the official Web site (www.mba.com), but you're definitely going to need to get some books. These are the ones I recommend:

Official Guide, 11th edition (practice questions, no strategy)
Princeton Review, Cracking the GMAT (strategy, practice tests)

OG has the best practice questions, PR and the official tests are the best tests.

The official site also has two free practice tests, called GMATPrep. These are a must for your prep, but again, do not waste them!!! Do not take them before you understand the GMAT. There's another free test on Princeton Review's site: https://www.princetonreview.com/mba/test ... CTICE-TEST

Hope this helps...spend some time in the forum and read what people have to say. You'll get a lot out of it, especially if you do that before asking too many questions. You'll get them answered before you even ask! :D

Thanks Spence, that was the purpose of my initial post. I do not want to waste the e tests.

I will go through Kaplan and OG 11 etc first and then will take all available tests.

Agree with the advice already given.

Do theory first and then the practice tests.

There are a lot of free practice tests on the net. Just search on Google using keywork "free GMAT tests."
