Profile Evaluation

by counterfactual » Fri Nov 18, 2011 8:35 am
Appreciate feedback on the profile! Please chance for HBS. Should the AWA score be worrying? Seems a little inconsistent.

Profile: 24 / Male / Asian / Canadian

GMAT: 780 (Q51, V45, AWA 4.5), first attempt

Education: BA Economics & Management, Oxford, 2i (equivalent of GPA 3.5+)

Work Experience: gap year working in a healthcare start-up in Asia, 2 years doing IBD (industry team unrelated to healthcare) in a top IB (London office)

Extracurricular: President of economics society, founder of a political discussion society at university

Post-MBA: General management in healthcare in Asia

Schools: Harvard, Stanford

Thanks!

Dear counterfactual,

You have the building blocks for a competitive application - high GMAT, competitive GPA, solid work experience. To give yourself the best chance for admission at highly selective programs like HBS & Stanford, you need to have a stellar application package. Your essays, recommendations and interview must further your case for admission, distinguish you from the competition and show how you will add value as both a student and alumnus. Likewise, you must present a solid rationale for an MBA in relation to your goals and why these programs are a good match for you.

Good luck,
Lisa
