Q. At Pete's Pet Shop, 35 cups of bird seeds are used every 7 days to feed 15 parakeets. How many cups of bird seed would be required to feed 9 parakeets for 12 days ?

to feed 1 parakeet 1 day required amount of bird seed = 35/(15*7) =1/3 cups

Cups required required to feed 9 parakeets for 12 days =1/3*9*12 =36

This can be written as

(Cups1)/(Days1 * Para1) = (Cups2)/(Days2 * Para2)

Substituting values, we get,

(35)/(7* 15) = x/(12*9) = 36
