Disappointed with my poor GMAT score

Hi Guys

Wrote my GMAT, scored an appalling 650 (Q49, V28) AWA 4.5. I committed the crime of not finishing the exam - the verbal section. I answered the verbal section intially well (got a bold face question only to boost my confidence) and then wavered away failing to finish the exam. I was at Q 32 when I had only 5 mins left and as luck always has it, got an RC :-). With no choice I just marked an answer arbitrarily for each of the remaining questions.

I must also admit that I prepared for hardly 9 days. Thinking about retaking the GMAT, you guys think it is worth it?

Pre Exam Scores:

Gmat Prep1: 690 (Q50, V31)
Gmat Prep1 retake: 710(Q49, V33)
Gmat Prep2: 640 (Q48, V29)

Material Used:

Quants: 4GMAT, OG12.
Verbal: 4GMAT, OG12, 700 - 800 Collections for CR, RC, SC.

Time Taken:
9 days at a stretch.
Attended 10 class room sessions 2 months before.

First of all congrats on getting such a good score in just 9 days. But admission committe won't grant you admission because you took just 9 days. They might even ask why you didn't give another try.

Your prep scores are actually indicating that you need to improve in verbal. If you have great acads are the average GMAT score in the schools apply is around 650 then you can ignore it.

If you have enough time to give another GMAT then go for it. It will help you in two things - your verbal skills and a better GMAT score. The better the GMAT score the better the chances of getting in. With the current verba/AWA score even the essays you write will be not up to the mark. If you take the help of admission consultants for your essays, adcom might question whether the essays are written by you or not.
