Can i improve on retake? 650 (Q:49, V:30)

Hi, i took my gmat today. score 650 (Q-49, V-30). i need to retake the exam. I expected to do better on verbal but instead happened otherwise. my main prob was in RC and SC. though when istudied i had no probs with SC, infact it was my strength. but on exam day nothing worked for me. RC i was never comfortable with. Do u guys think i can improve on the score.
As i spoke to admission counsellers, they say not many people improve upon the scores on retake since the aptitude remains the same. Those who improve are generally people who scored in 5XX....but guys in 6XX range dont improve much...i am in dilemma...can anybody please suggest me!!

I think you should be able to improve if you maintain your Quant and improve your verbal. However, you would need to take a long break to relax your mind and then focus whole heartedly on Verbal. You will have to technically reprogram yourself on Verbal.

I think you would need at least 4 to 5 weeks of Verbal study in order to reach a 40 on Verbal..
