GMAT Prep Course Recommended?

Would anyone please recommend me a well-known GMAT prep course?

It is the 3rd time I get slaughtered by GMAT in the past 3 months.

1st) Q 41, V 23, Total 540
2nd) Q 38, V 22, Total 500
3rd) Q 42, V 25, Total 560

I have exhausted my practice materials and sample tests. I suspect that my prep method is problematic and I need to hire professionals to guide me through the test prep.

This forum provides me great information about prep books available in the Market. How about prep courses? Can anyone please suggest some that you recommend (or not)?

GMAT Goal

FYI

I am not aiming for high GMAT scores in the range > 680
In fact I'm only targeting a Verbal scaled score > 28 (46%)

So scores between 580 to 680 is all I have been aiming for.

To some of you guys, this may be a really low goal. Yet to me, it seems unreachable, and I have no reason why.

take a look at the manhattan gmat and also definitely look at the verbal books and follow them to every detail. BEST ADVICE look for the wrong answer to get to the right answers in verbal. Kaplan is ok!


maybe you can benefit from powerscore also

I am interested in taking a GMAT Prep course as well and am curious if anyone can speak to the pros and cons of MGMAT versus let's say, Princeton Review?

I'm not a fan of classroom instruction but with self study not going too well, I figure a course can't hurt... Been consistently scoring 590 and 600 in the four practice exams I've taken.. read Princeton Review book and currently working on OG11..

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

I won't say which course I recommend because, uh, I have an obvious conflict of interest... :)

But I will talk about how to choose a program that's right for you. Check out any free sessions offered by any prep company in which you have an interest. For example, my company offers a free 2 hour informational session and we also let a limited number of people sit in on a first class for free. Last I checked, all of the major companies offer something for free.

If possible, try to attend free sessions taught by whoever would be your teacher if you took a course with that company. See whether you like the teaching style, content, methodology, pace, etc. Ask questions about whatever is of greatest concern to you and see how well the answers address your needs / situation. Basically, answer the question: do you think this person is a great teacher and can really help you learn?

Also check out the company's materials to make sure they're comprehensive and well put together (though I can tell you that, in my opinion, all of the major companies do have comprehensive materials backed by solid research - I've looked at them :))

For those of you living in cities or countries where MGMAT does not operate, perhaps you can try Veritas Prep. A friend of mine did the course in Sydney and found it very good.
