Basic Profile, retake GMAT?

by shep1313 » Tue Oct 28, 2008 7:15 pm
Dear Consultants,

Thank you for your input in advance! I am 35, ten years out of college with a BS in Hospitality Adm. from Boston University. My GPA in my concentration was a 4.0, but a 3.2 overall. My career has been varied with numourous positions in the hospitality industry showing progressive responsibilty up to the GM level. I completed my GMAT today and scored 39V and a 29Q. On my practice exams I was scoring closer to 35,36Q and 34V. Total score of 570. I am not trying to get into Harvard but University of Washington would be nice. I have a very strong grasp of math but 2 minutes to figure out some of this esoteric algebra isn't my thing! Would you reccomend a retake? Thanks for your input.

James

Dear James,

If you have only taken the GMAT once, then I highly recommend you take it again. Most applicants take the GMAT at least twice. Be sure to give yourself enough time to thoroughly prep and practice those math questions.

Good luck,
Lisa
