Hello,

I am working as a IT Project/Program Manager at HP. I took my GMAT yesterday and got a score of 580.

My initial target was SMU COX since I live in Dallas. I think 580 is a decent enough score to apply for Part-time MBA at SMU COX.

My question is:
Is there any chance of getting into the "weekend MBA" program at Chicago-Booth or Kellogg with a score of 580 or is it going to be a waste of time to even apply for it?

Since it is a weekend program, I am trying find out if there is a chance of getting in with a lower score of 580. I have a M.S in computer science with 17 years of experience in IT with the last 7 years as a Project and Program Manager.

Please let me know and Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Singar.

Hello,

I think it would be very difficult to get admitted to those part-time programs with a 580.

I also note the 17 years of experience - this would make you fairly old for an MBA program, even a part-time one. If you have some managerial experience, you might consider EMBA programs. Some of the better EMBA programs, including Kellogg and Michigan, no longer require the GMAT, which would take care of that issue for you - and they also are part-time.
