The issue is broadly questioning the essential quality of an employee or colleague. On one hand, many people believe that qualities, such as previous work experience and educational background are sufficient in matching job-candidates with jo openings, o the other hand, some people believe that, in addition to work experience and educational back groung personality traits and work habbits are also equally important and necessary. The issue is controvertial one but on a closer look and analysis, I fing and suuport that personality traits and work habits are equally inportant when matching job-candidates with job openings.

One reason for my support is that interpersonal skills, personality traits and work habits cannot ne taught. There is no perticular method, formula or book to learn theses skill from. It takes years of practice, dicipline and dedication to grasp these skills. People with these skills know how to wokr with dedication, decipline and honesty.

Another reason is that, personality traits and work habits along with work experience and educational background are clear indicator of a team player. Today almost every industry or company emphasises the role of team activity, hepling, sharing and learning together. Running an Industry or a company is not a one man show but rather is a team work.

Thirf and perhaps the best reason is thatwork experience, educational background, technical knowledge are comparitively easy to assess and evaluate. Recruitment managers, in comapnies and industries, find it more difficult to assess the personality traits and work habits of an individual. To illustrate, today, in most of the industries and companies, we see that there are many levels of interviews before accepting a job candidate. The job-candidate, has to pass the written test, then the technical interview and finally the personal interview and group discussion rounds. All these test are designed to assess and evaluate the overall growth if the individual. As a result, candidates with overall growth and knowledge gets selected.

In conclusion, the view that in matching job-candidates with job openings, managers must consider not only such variables as previous work experience and educational background but also, personality traits and work habits, which are more difficult to assess and judge, is more advantegeous and inportant. The aforementioned points support and bolster my view and undescore the importance of all the qualities essential in an employee or colleauge.
