Hi Suman,
I am Sorry for your bad score. In fact I am shocked and tensed after looking at your results as I have my test on 19-Aug.
Anyways, keep your spirit high. I am sure you will do it next time.

Suman, somehow I think your final score is not accurate after seeing the breakup. I got 570 (Q-49 and V-19). So in your case I think it should be 600 and not 590. I am not sure how GMAC calculate the score.

Suman bhai,

Hi... Man, I have no words to speak now... R eally am depressed....I am not able to figure out how come u missed it??

As u said seems SC has got tougher... anyways...keep up the spirits...I am dumbstruck....

As per my knowledge u r damn good in CR. I think when it comes to 2/3 split u wuld have missed the 1/2 split out of them.

Its just a matter of luck....

I guess u take one more test in a months time..enroll in e-gmat or knewton..u can make difference..

This just indicates that the scaled scores were up, statistically, they keep on changing with each test.

read this blog, the discrepancy cited by a reader and a mba.com link subsequently.

hi suman

as u told u have u have 25 minutes n 20 questions left. i think this killed yr score in verbal. u have 1 min n few seconds for each questions. rc questions are really time taking n u have to read again n again for each question. so this screw yr score in verbal. sc 16 questions dont take more than 1.5 minute for sc so 24 min then 1o cr questions 1.5 min each so 15 min n 15 rc questions 2 min each so 30 minutes total 69 minutes. 6 min u can adjust to any hard questions. if u think rc is hard keep more time for it. if it happens then yr score will come 32 in verbal n final score as 640 to 660.

i know u can do it.
best of luck

@indiantiger - I always wrote full tests with AWA.

@gmatmachoman - I have not decided anything about retake in such a short time. But, its encouragement from you guys that I am not able to resist myself visiting BTG again-n-again.

Thanks Pradeep for putting forward statistics.
I am on a break !!

here is your problem sumanr84: you scored 640 in gmatprep1. the standard deviation is +-30, so you were in the 610-670 range. also you didnt make good use of gmatprep2 as you did all the questions that appear on that exam from a question bank. in sum your final gmat score was very close to what you were scoring.

qwe12 I STRONGLY don't believe in what you explain.
He might not have been able to fine tune his Pacing, but his Practice was far better both qualitatively and quantitatively than most of us on the forum!

A 710 & 690 in Kaplan or a 710 in ManhattanGMAT is no joke.

Even the best of us may lose our nerves, particularly on a D-Day!

Hi Suman,

Nothing to worry dude, its just a matter of luck.
To prove my point I will share a story here. Last summers, I was not able to get placement through college, although I studied hard always. But then within 1 month after college, I cracked an interview at one of the top companies. So today I am better placed than most people of my college. Sometimes things happen because God has planned something better for us

So just try finding where you could have gone wrong and fill those gaps. Best of Luck

I just posted my GMAT brief. Go through it, if you can find anything useful, include that in your startegy

Also let me know if I can help.....
Success is a journey.....enjoy every moment of it

Suman,

I personally feel that it's just attacking verbal strongly, as I have suggested in your RC question earlier.
No need to mention ,most of us are in the same boat. For instance, I got 640 with a lower verbal score.

Why I am mentioning this is, I have read most of your SC posts and I am pretty sure that you are in a good position.
About RC (from your last post) we are both in bad position. And the reason why we got 30s and 40s in Practice tests is calm and relaxed approach. But when it comes to real exam we panic and our startegies are not good enough to withstand the pressure, i.e not reading the passage again and trying to spend more in first read to understand completely.

I assume you follow the same approach to CR as I do. I have read Powerscore CR bible but I have never applied any of those concepts. That is, I would not try to stop and classify the components of the argument. So eventually under pressure our normal instinct doesn't help. So, now I am practicing the concepts without bothering about tiem to get used to them.

You have mentioned you need a break, that's a good approach. But if you intend to start again and need to find someone like you, just PM me. If I appear for the exam before that I will update you what happens.

After all, it is just about our determination.
Good luck.
