I would go with D) (hope its right)

First 1/4(=3/12th) piece will be cut

When u go to cut the 1/3rd(=4/12th) that piece will only be
1/3-1/4 or 4/12-3/12= 1/12

When u go to to cut the next 1/4 or3/12th, 1/12 th will be gone leaving us wiht 3/12-1/12 = 2/12 =1/6

1/4,1/12,1/6

in fourth and also in thirds ..find the LCM(3:4) 12

SO:

0---3-4--6--8--9--12

so this is how it looks like. you can see there are different pieces

3/12 = 1/4
1/12 = 1/12
2/12 = 1/6
1/12 = 1/12
3/12 = 1/4
