In the xy plane, Line k has a positive slope and x-intercept 4. If the area of the triangle formed by line k and the two axes is 12, What is the y-intercept of line K ?
(A) 3
(B) 6
(C) -3
(D) -6
(E) -4

y=mx + c
c=4 ,m=+ve

1/2 x 4 x -y =12

Hence,D = -6

Negative slope, positive (4) x-intercept --> negative y-intercept. --> 1/2*4*|y|=12 --> |y|=6. --> y=-6
