McCombs essay #2 is -

Discuss a defining experience in your leadership development. What did you learn from this experience about your strengths and weaknesses as a leader? (Limit: 650 words)

What I want to know is, is it a better idea to give a professional experience in this case, or would a non professional (related to community service) be okay.

Appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

I would go for a non prof one if its a strong story to show your leadership. It automatically adds dimension to your application.
