Are you misssing something in the problem......

I am reading it as

[2(x+y)^2]/[ 2(x-y)^2]. If that is true, I don't think it is solvable. Moreover, if you take x=2 and y=1/2, answer is 25/9

.. i think the question would make more sense if the expression was ..

2^((x+y )^2)/2^((x-y )^2) ..
