The answer is 2ab.

On substituting 'b' all other terms will be cancelled except 'ax'.

This will be:

a(b) - a(-b) = 2ab

Yup. Thanks. I tried it tried it again while doing a bunch of problems from the OG and realized that I overlooked the squaring, which makes -b positive. Have to be more careful.
