The length of the rectangle spans two diagonals of the squares, whereas the width spans only one. Thus the sides of the rectangle are in a 2:1 ratio, so if x the length of the diagonal of each square , 6x = 18sqrt(2). Thus x is 3sqrt(2), and the length of each side of each square is x/sqrt(2) = 3
Thus the perimeter of each square is 12

Make sure you know the ratio of the sides of an isosceles triangle!
