how to improve to 650+ from 620 in 2months?

Hello,

I ami ooking from advice to improve my score to a 650+ from a 620!!

I am not the typical engineer guy so my weaknesses are mainly in quant.

I score 620 ( Q40 V35) and i have a couple of months before my next try in december, any novice about Brooks ( i have OG 12, og verbal 2nd éd and og quant 2nd éd, mgmat NB, FDP, Word problem, CR and SC)

Any plan for the couple of months i have?

Hey camtip,

First of all, a 30-point increase is a very reasonable goal. In fact, you might want to shoot for 700, since you're almost there already.

To improve in GMAT math, you should take the time to master each topic (e.g., percents, ratios, exponents, statistics, etc.)

For each topic, you must:
1) Learn the underlying concepts (rules, attributes, notation, etc.)
2) Learn GMAT-specific strategies related to that topic
3) Practice dozens of questions all related to that one topic.
4) Don't stop working on that topic until you have mastered it
Then move on to the next topic.

Since you have 2 months, you might consider signing up for BTG's free Study Guide: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide. This will help you stay on track and ensure that you cover all of the necessary concepts that the GMAT tests.

In addition to learning the core concepts and GMAT-specific strategies, be sure to work on your endurance and test-taking skills (e.g., time management) by taking several practice tests.

A 700 score? Waouh. It really boasts me! I will review all math concepts as you advise me to.

I have some questions about the 60-day GMAT guide.

Firstly, it uses the OG 13th and I have the 12th is it really a big issue?

Secondly, it recommends between 2 and 4 hours per day which is huge for any full-time worker, does it include reading and learning the concepts plus watching related video, practice questions and review practice questions?

Finally, is there any errorlog for questions from verbal OG 2nd ed and quant OG 2nd?

Hey Cam,

Using the OG12 shouldn't be an issue. Here's a post (with a downloadable Improvement Chart for the OG12) concerning this: https://www.beatthegmat.com/og-12-t115241.html#494244

Since you've already done a fair bit of preparing, you probably won't need to spend as much time on each topic. Just use the Guide to fill in any gaps you may have.

I've never seen any error logs for questions from verbal OG 2nd ed and quant OG 2nd.

Hi Brent,

Just wanted to share, today is my "day 3" on the 60-day guide, and I took a gmat prep test

and scored a 640 (Q45/V35) 66-%tile / 74-%tile. I could have done better since in verbal my last five

questions were a RC complex passage and I had to rush, missing all of them in a row...

I hope my score increases after the 57 remaining days!

640 is an excellent start to the 60-Day Study Guide!
