Q. Unlike the United States, Japanese unions appear reluctant to organize lower-paid workers.
(A) Unlike the United States, Japanese unions appear reluctant to organize
(B) Unlike those in the United States, Japanese unions appear reluctant to organize
(C) In Japan, unlike the United States, unions appear reluctant to organize
(D) Japanese unions, unlike the United States, appear reluctant to organize
(E) Japanese unions, unlike those in the United States, appear reluctant about organizing

OA is [spoiler](B)[/spoiler]. Can't really figure out what makes [spoiler](C)[/spoiler] incorrect. Reason please.

Construction is not ||. It would be || if the statement is

In japan , unlike in United states...

i am sure the answer has to be C

i had narrowed down to B and C.

this is why i chose C....


now wht we are comapring here is the japanese unions and the american unions.... in C we are perfectly comparing the respective unions of Japan and America..while in B as well as in E wht can be infered is japanese unions in japan and japanese unions in amerca which is not wht the sentence is talking bout.

so IMO C and i think i am right in my reasoning unless i am missing some crooked detail.

The OA to this question is B.

i also got tempted by C and chose it, but someone raised a point about the preposition 'in'.

Can some experts comment on whether ' in Japan, unlike the United States' construction is incorrect because of the preposition?
