Rescheduling my GMAT appointment.

by emahmud » Sat May 05, 2012 4:22 pm
Hello everyone. I have a GMAT appointment on May 27 2012. My practice score is far away from my target score. That's why I want to reschedule on August 14 2012. But I'm in hesitancy at the moment whether the decision will cost me to start my PhD on September 2013.

I'm facing difficulty in the reading comprehension. In my practice test I cannot stay strict to follow any rules for RC. That's make me in jumbled condition to capture RC. Moreover, as I'm not a native speaker, I'm in deficiency in reading skill. In this regard I need suggestions to enhance my reading skill and vocabulary building in this short period.

Hi Emahmud,
If you're really far away from you're target score you're probably better off taking the test in August. Yes, the test is going to change, but the bulk of the test is going to stay the same. More importantly, the score out of 800 (which is what schools really care about) will be graded in exactly the same way. The only difference is that there will be one less writing section at the beginning of the exam and you'll have an extra section that lasts 30 min. at the end of the test (again- this section doesn't affect your score out of 800).

So, what you should do is practice the RC section everyday. Also, you should work on the SC section because the more you improve your grammar the faster you'll go on the SC questions. The faster you go on the SC questions the more time you'll have to work on the RC questions.

Good luck!
Dan
