Please Evaluate!

Degree: Bachelor of Engineering
GPA: 3.6
GMAT: 630(47Q,30V)
Post MBA Goals: Work in Finance Domain for few years to gain experience before making a start-up
Target School: CMU,Duke,Yale,Cornell, UNC
Work-experience:
Over 4 years of experience in IT Consulting(will be 5 by the time I join B-school)
as SAP CRM Application Consultant.Worked with international clients
in Telecommunication and Utlities Industry.Over 2 years of International Experience handling a team of 4 Consultants.
Extra-curricular:
Good extra-curricular in community service. Have worked on projects on Rural Development in India.Leading
several initiatives in my organization.
Several awards and accolades for my professional work and extra-curricular work.

Hi,

Thanks for your post. Your work experience and goals seem quite solid and in line with those that bschools are seeking in applicants. However, I do have some concerns about your GMAT score. Given you will be part of a large applicant pool (those with technical and engineering backgrounds) your score tends to fall below average of those in pool as well as the average for the schools on your list. I strongly encourage you to consider retaking the GMAT in an effort to score 700+. This will help boost your profile and make you more competitive for admission.
