First the heading Best Among the two is GMATically wrong , it should be between. B-)

The importance of service sector may be declining in relative or absolute term.
It is possibel that other sectors must be catching up. Points to a robust economy.

But, if growth is an the expense of manufacturing sector there is no real gain. Possible, the job loss in manufacturing is > 1/2 a million.

In my opinion "D" is irrelevant. The argument talks about the economy in the last 15 years. What was the economy 40 years ago is not relevant.

Both B and E weakens the argument. However B does it better than E. I fell for E :(
can you next time not to post so clear answer in the argument? because we need to take time to think and understand and find the answer for the question. you posted the question with the answer which hinder us to practice with the logic because everything in our mind is "ANSWER IS b ANDSWER IS B"
THANKS:)

imo B is best answer

as the manufacturing sector is weaken they force the manpower to switch to service sector hence if this is true this will weaken the argument that service sector has given more new opportunity for employment.

and D doest not tell about anything about service sector its only a statistical statement.

and E tells that the % contribution of service sector to american economy has decreased but it can not be avoided but doesnt weaken the argument
