Total cost = price * quantity. Whenever a common formula applies, it's good to jot it down on your scrap paper. So, we need to know the number of letter and the price per letter.gmattester wrote:What was the total amount of postage required to mail n letters?

(1) number of letters. Not what we're looking for: insufficient, eliminate (a) and (d).
(2) price >= 32. Not what we're looking for: insuffiicent, eliminiate (b).
Combined: we know the quantity, but not the price. We could determine that:
total cost >= 10 * 32
but an inequality isn't enough. Based on (2), the cost per letter could be 32 cents, but it also could be 32 dollars - or for all we know, the cost for each letter is different.
Even combined, not enough information: choose (e).
