I think that if you don't finish the diploma then you shouldnt put it on your resume... but ... you SHOULD send that transcript along with your undergraduate transcript. that's what I plan on doing even though I will ahve finished my certificate program by the time i apply

However, should I really send the transcript as my grades won't even be in yet?
If not in the Education section, should I try to include the fact that I'm taking some business courses somewhere else?

oh well if your grades won't be in yet... then there isn't anything to send ... I would definitely mention somewhere that you're taking business courses - not sure where though, maybe you can weave it into one of the essays?

maybe ask one of the Consultants in the other forum...they'll be able to lead you in the right direction

Hi everyone,

I'm applying to UBC and under their academic history section they state:

"Please list the post-secondary institutions you have attended starting with the most recent. Failure to disclose full post-secondary records is a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action."

Now, do I really have to inform them about the fact that I'm doing a certificate? There's a box that asks when I'm expected to finish the program, but I don't really want to tell them that I don't intend to finish it. I just wanted to take courses for interest purposes and now it makes me look like a drop out.

Also, would I have to send them the transcript? There's no marks yet.

If there aren't any grades yet, there's nothign to send them. I don't know why you wouldn't want to let the adcom know that you've taken the initiative to take extra classes for whatever reason. I don't think you can go wrong here... if it really bothers you maybe you can write about it in the optional essay.

If I were an adcom member I'd rather see that someone took X amount of classes pertaining to Y for ________ reason, than not see anything. I don't know how much they would wonder, "oh why didn't they finish the program?" There are many reasons for this... maybe financial... maybe something personal came up... who knows... but showing that you took the classes is a plus. IMO
