I've been following the BTG study guide for the first 23 days, and have felt like I've made a lot of progress. As prescribed, the first week I took the GMATPrep Practice Test 1 and did surprisingly well...710 (Q47/V41). And after finishing 20 days of quant practice and absolutely no verbal practice, I took the GMATPrep Practice Test 1 again and scored 720, but here's the kicker - My quant declined and my verbal improved. Q44 and V46. What's going on?
Looking at the actual number of wrong answers, on the first attempt I got 10 Quant wrong and 8 Verbal wrong. This second attempt, I got 12 quant wrong and 3 verbal wrong. My testing environment for the first attempt was in my quiet apartment and skipping the AWA, and today's attempt was at my local Burger King including AWA. I thought my pacing had somewhat improved and I didn't feel distracted on either section, so I'm not quite sure what's going on.
I don't know if I should be disappointed or not, I'm just really confused. Any ideas on what I should be doing differently or what I should do next? The BTG study guide is moving ahead with verbal but with my quant score regressing I'm not sure what I should really be studying right now. I haven't picked a test date yet but I was planning for early October.
