Hello All,

I am newbie in application process, got my gmat score recently , it is 670. I have decided to use this score for application process.

My profile: An IT ERP consultant, with 6 years of experience.
Role: Technical architect and Team lead for last 3 years (leading a team 10-12 people)
Currently employed in US.
Global exposure: Worked in Europe (1 year) and USA (almost 2 years now)
GPA: Avg. 3.4
Star award winner, along with best trainee award

extra curricular :Weight training and sports, worked in NGO for three months while in India, contributed to one NGO in USA for there site development

hobbies: Writing poetry and social issues , Music ( naive guitarist)

with the above profile and GMAT score, which schools , i can aim for, primarily willing to do MBA technology specific.

Any help and suggestions are much appreciated.

Regards
Abhishek

Hi Abhishek,

If this was your first GMAT attempt, keep in mind that you could easily increase your score by at least 30-40 points should you attempt a retake. 670 is a tad lower, especially since you belong to the most OVER REPRESENTED pool of applicants.

You have decent extracurriculars and community experiences- a definite plus. You did not mention your geographical preference. Talking about just US, you could look at Tepper, McCombs,Carlson, Kelley and Fisher with your current score. Since you're already in the US, its a great idea to visit a few colleges you're interested in ( if possible) and start connecting with the admissions committees.

Good Luck and God Bless!!

Hello Mansi,

Thanks for your reply, but this was my third attempt ,and I do not want give another attempt, despite that I want to improve on my extra curricular activities and make a impressive bio.

also , I do not want to limit myself to US only, I am looking for good business school any place in the world which can provide me more and better global exposure.

I mentioned US because I am currently working here , but its not a preference.

Regards
Abhishek

Helllo Abhishek,
So first of all you have some good stuff in your profile. I think the two strong points are your leadership and international experience. which are great. With those two, even with a lower GMAT score of 670 I'd say you can apply to a range of school in the 20-50 ranking range (US News ranking). If you provide me with a short list of your selection with a bit of your own logic why you are thinking about these schools, I can respond in kind and give you my own suggestions.

Best,
Jon
