Dear Indradeep,

If you have spent anytime reading other threads on this forum, then you know you fall in a tough category for admissions. One of the largest populations in the global MBA applicant pool is engineers from India, specifically in IT or software. So you have a larger hurdle to jump in terms of distinguishing yourself than some other applicants. It all comes down to how well you market and position yourself in the application package. If you feel you have a compelling story to tell and can effectively convey your candidacy, then you should apply to any school you feel is a good match for your career goals.

Good luck,
Lisa

Lisa,
Thanks so much for pointing that out. However, I was already aware that Indian IT engineers comprise one of the largest international applicant pool. However, I just wanted to know if having done multiple things like Mensa and teaching and also having part time experience in managing restaurants and being a lettebox delivery person coupled with good GMAT scores and work ex were good indicators of whether I could be a potential good candidate for the top 20 US colleges.
I also understand that Essays are one of the most important part of my application process and I would try and make my candidacy stand out by using all my unique experiences.
Just wanted to have you walk through my profile a bit.
Regards,
Indradeep
