Consider the following adbitm1313:
  1. First, in terms of logistics and time table, you should get a good sense of it from the post here.
  2. The nature of your experience is not clear neither have you mentioned your post-MBA plans. Those are critical aspects to evaluate your profile fully. All the ECs you've mentioned are from college days - these will have limited leverage unless there is some continuity to what you do today.
  3. Your GMAT will be at or below average for most of the schools in your target list. So the question you have to ask is, what else differentiates you - especially from the Indian crowd that tends to score well above a given school's average. If you can answer that convincingly, go ahead. If not, you've got your task cut out for the GMAT.
Hope this helps some

Cheers,

Thanks for sharing your profile.

If you want to have your GMAT as a differentiator, you would need to retake and score above the above of your target schools, especially since you are coming a competitive pool of applicants.

You would need to show how an MBA from your target school fits your background, and help you achieve a well-defined post-MBA goal. From what you have shared, you have some interesting experiences being involved with robotics/formula car. If you can show active involvement and passion for these, it would help make your profile be more interesting and stand out.

Wish you all the best!

Thanks Edison and mbkMcK.
I do have continuity to what I did in college.I am still mentoring the robotics club and work extensively for the NGO and indulge myself in various social work like educating children, creating social awareness regarding diseases etc.
During my job, I have been the global owner of few things and have tekn up new challenges every now and then.Have received some peer to peer awards for my support to other collegues in different projects.Through this I can show some leadership and team work skills.

My acdemic record has been strong as well 93.6% in 10th and 87% in 12th with good ranks in AIEEE(5324) and quakified for IIT as well.
My preference will always be indian institutes.I think I will be targetting ISB and IIMB EPGP (got ot know that I am not yet eligible for IIMA)

Also,my carrer plan has so far been oriented.I was very keen in electronics and hardware stuffs in college and hence I joined a semiconductor core company. Then working there, I got to know how it works, how do we gain clients and have seen how a company changes when a merger takes place. All this has made me cuirous regarding the in and out of the company and I now want to explore more about operation of any company, that why I am going for an MBA.Moreover I even tried to start a own company but could not execute,so an MBA will certainly help in my future plans.

Thanks for the additional details. It would help to show the passion and excitement for what you do to come through. For example, you can paint a vivid scene of how your interest in robotics was triggered or how you visualize what you can do through your goals and how an MBA at the target program will help you achieve that.

This will help you stand out from the pool.

That sounds fantastic - make sure the continuity comes through well in your application.

Operations is still pretty vague - as you formalize your application, granularize that more please. Finally, school level grades don't matter much - your undergrad and GMAT are far more important from the academic arc perspective.
