I was admitted to the Sloan Fellows program at MIT.

This was my target program and my first choice. And I am thrilled about it.

Open to any questions.

I come with 10 yrs total work experience across two industries. Hospitality & IT Outsourcing. Presently working with an Indian IT giant as Senior Manager. Manage a team of 180 people across 5 countries.

GMAT was not asked. MIT (for this program) doesn't require GMAT if one has studied financial management, microeconomics or calculus in undergrad and scored grade B or above. I had straight As in financial management.

I think what clicked for me was my thorough research about the program and how it would help me to achieve my long term goals. Avrg age in this program is 38. I was 31 when I applied.

I Have an Low Gpa (74%) in undergrad but 89% in Mba .. if i get an high Gmat score can i get into colleges like sloan, Haas berkeley, warringto (florida) etc.. do i have an chance if i have low gpa in undergrad.. what should i do

I am no expert but from what I have learnt from the admission process is GMAT is one part of your application. Obviously a high GMAT score will overcome your low gpa. But more importantly you need to have clear goals and a compelling story to tell the school of your choice, specially if you want to do a second MBA. Good luck.

I have been just invited to interview (I already had a couple of previous informal chats with members of the adcom), can you give me any insight about the main topics covered in the interview?

Interview will mostly be around your essays and application. It goes on for about 30 mins to an hour. Make sure you are thorough with what you have submitted.

Also, if you have already had multiple discussions with the adcom staff, they have a pretty good idea about who you are. They are very good judge of candidates and do a great job in picking the best people. So if they have called you for an interview, I would think that they are interested in you. As long as you have strong leadership stories in your essay you should be fine.

What can i Do to improve my profile for getting into sloan fellowship... should i write articles and publish them or what should i do to get my profile fit for ivy league bchools phd program( apart from GMAT(770) and undergrad gpa-74%(india), grad gpa-86%(india))please reply and helpout

ECLS: i tried to PM you but the message is just sitting in my outbox - I'm not sure if it's working. In any case, I am interested in the Sloan Fellows program and am considering submitting an application in the next week or two. I have been preparing to apply to other programs, but a colleague suggested that I look at SF. As soon as I started reading about it, I was curiosity was immediately piqued. The program was almost tailored to my wish list for an MBA. However, I'm a little concerned about my lack of international experience. The global focus is a key aspect of what draws me to the program; I've been working for domestic telecom here in the US and other than some minor dealings with a Canadian supplier, I have had little exposure outside the US. During my MBA exploration, I have been drawn more to international programs but after discovering Sloan Fellows, it appears to have a global perspective already built in. Other schools talk about diversity, but it seems like SF is truly an international program. I'm a bit on the younger side at 35, though it sounds like my leadership experience is in the ballpark (youngest director at leading F500 company, two startups in my 20's).

I have a ton of personal exposure outside the US (1st generation US/immigrant family, lots of exposure in mission trips to Central American and family visits back home to India), but not professionally. Other than that, it almost seems like the dream program for me. thoughts?
