IF @ and # each represent single digits in the decimal above,what digit does @ represent??
1. when the decimal is rounded to the nearest tenth,3.2 is the result.
2. when the decimal is rounded to the nearest hundreth,3.24 is the result.

I got the answer as correct(e) but the whole concept of rounding is a bit shaky.Could somebody please treat this question as the "lesson for rounding" or "indepth analysis into decimals" or whatever and explain the A-Z of the concept??

Statement 1.
since 3.2 is the answer...
@<5
which can be 0,1,2,3 or 4
insufficient

Statement 2
rounding to the nearest hundreth 3.24 is the result...
So when @ is 3, # may be 5,6,7,8 or 9
or when @ is 4, # may be 1,2,3 or 4
So @ may be 3, 4....
insufficient

using both also we get @ may be 3 or 4
So insufficient...
Hence answer is E
