In the figure above, is quadrilateral PQRS a parallelogram?
(1) The area of ΔPQS is equal to the area of ΔQRS.
(2) QR = RS

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

My pick is C

because....if the base for two "same area" traingles is same and the other two sides of one the traingles are equal....then oviously the other two sides of the other traingle should also be equal.....for the height of the traingles to be same...

I would go with E.

(1) if a quadrilateral is devided into two triangles of equal area, its not necessarily a parallelogram. The figure could be a kite as well. INSUFFICIENT

(2) if two adjecent sides are equal, we don't know anything about the two other sides, i.e. we don't know whether they are parallel or not. The figure could be a trapezoid, or just a general quadrilateral. INSUFFICIENT
