Do i need score when applying?

Hello All,
I have booked the dates for GMAT in 3rd week of september.
But considering the application dates of some of the schools i fear that i may miss out few important schools waiting for the actual results to be sent to the schools.

So my question is, Can i apply to the schools with all recommendations and then send my scores later?
Is this possible?

EssaySnark clarifies: Most schools only require the unoffical score. Applicants self-report it by typing it in on the school's application. Official scores are usually only required if/when an offer is made. Every school has different policies, but you do not usually need the official score report when submitting the app. You just need to enter your scores on the app form.

If the OP is testing in September, that should be totally fine for R1 deadlines (it just doesn't give you time to retest if you're unhappy with your score -- the real complication comes in when someone gets a NEW, better score that they want considered in place of the originally-reported score -- many schools cannot/will not accomodate this though others do).
