Profile Evaluation

Good day,

Can you evaluate my profile and recommended whether I have chances for getting admission in ISB ?

Age : 29

Work Experience : 6 years (last 2 years managing, leading IT Teams ,Rest is 4 years IT ) , All in Australia
Experience in nutshell :-
6 years all consulting experience on various clients in Mails & Logistic area , Online search.
Client interaction is all the time and work closely with the management team.
Last2 .5 years has been more leading managing roles on client side :-
1) Leading a operation team ( 6 months)
2) Leading a development team ( 1 year)
3) Project Manager and Delivery lead for all minor works ( 1 year)

Grades:-
Under grade: 70 %
Graduate is around the same.

I am not sure this will help or not, But i am also done certification in Prince2 Project management methodology


Qualification : MS(Australia) IT - Computer Science
B.Tech(IT) India
Citizenship : Australia (Previously Indian)
GMAT Score : 700

Few Question:-
1)Do you think GMAT score is enough to get into these schools?
2)I will be applying for 2010, What kind of experience can help me get admission ? I am planning to apply for strategic consulting companies
3) Do you think any Volunteer work or learning any language would increase my chances?

Dear Vik,

I do think you need to find a way to distinguish yourself in the applicant pool as your profile is similar to a large percentage in the global applicant pool. Leadership outside the office in volunteer activities would be helpful as well as demonstrating career progression. Rather than changing jobs, it might be better to expand your responsibilities and/or get promoted in your current role.

Lisa,

Thanks for the reply. Just couple of more queries :-

1) As I am holding Australian passport(Indian previously), would I be consider in same Indian Pool?
2) Do you think learning different language(French) may help me in distinguishing myself?
3)Still the question about GMAT, do you think 30+ points will increase my chances of getting admission?

My only concern is whether I should go for some Extra curricular/Language learning or retake the GMAT , its hard to do the both with my current work load.

Some schools will still consider you in the Indian pool as you are from India originally. However, most schools will consider you Australian as you are a citizen of Australia. Learning a language would not be a distinguishing feature. I think you should take the GMAT again as 30+ points can make a difference.
