MBA in Top B-School but without experience

by cvora » Thu Jul 31, 2014 6:31 am
Hi,

My profile is kind of very different. I am currently doing 5 year Dual Degree MBA(Tech.) Program [ Currently in 4th Year ]. After completion of 5 years I will be having 2 degrees.

1. B.Tech in Information Technology
2. MBA(Tech.) with no specialization.

I have very low acads. After 3 yrs my CGPA is 2.85/4.00. Hoping that to reach to 3.00 by the end of this year or after Completion of 5 yrs.

I have done 3 Internships (2 Startup's & 1 Small Sized Company) & been involved in 2 committees (Finance & Colloquium) till date in my college life.

Also done some freelancing work on various bidding sites such as Elance & oDesk for few months. Work done on content writing & website development

Also written technology related blogs for websites based in US, Indonesia.

I have started preparing for GMAT for a while now and I am expecting a score anything around 720-740 when I give final exam.

I am very confused currently. What should I do?

I am planning to apply for deferred admissions in Harvard 2+2, ISB YLP, Yale Silvers Scholars, Buffalo 2+2.

Wanted to know that is there any chance for a candidate like me to get into these programs as, I am a candidate who has already done an MBA. I have some strong reasons to convince them when I am doing MBA second time.

Also, incase I don't get there and then apply for schools next year but direct admission then do I stand a good chance to get into there as my academics are pretty low and I am doing it for second time.

I would say the odds are stacked against you because these programs seek candidates with strong grades.
