Hello,
I do not think the first two years at a community college would be a significant drawback because you did well there and you also did reasonably well upon transfer to a more competitive program. And of course the cost factor is perfectly reasonable and understandable. Moreover, good community colleges are getting a lot more (deserved) respect these days! If everything else is in place, and you put together stellar applications, I do not consider the cc background to be a negative factor.
